Vast Yonder delivered public art commissions for Southbank Corporation within the South Bank precinct — one of Brisbane's most visited and culturally significant public spaces. Located adjacent to the Queensland Cultural Centre, the precinct attracts millions of visitors annually.
The commissions contributed to South Bank's identity as a destination for culture and creativity, adding permanent public artworks to a precinct that already houses the Queensland Art Gallery, Gallery of Modern Art, State Library and Queensland Performing Arts Centre.
Scope & delivery.
Vast Yonder managed artist selection, concept development and installation in close collaboration with Southbank Corporation's placemaking team. The high-traffic, high-visibility nature of the precinct required works to be delivered to the highest standard of quality and durability.
The project reinforced Vast Yonder's capability in delivering public art within complex stakeholder environments where multiple approvals, safety requirements and community expectations must be carefully managed.
