We build culture as infrastructure.
Culture isn’t decoration. It’s the infrastructure of how a city understands itself — and like any infrastructure, someone has to programme it, build it, maintain it and hand it over. Since 2016 that has been our job.
Vast Yonder is a Brisbane creative production company. Since 2016 we’ve brought together artists, curators, producers and technologists to deliver work at the intersection of public art, placemaking, live events and activation.
We run as a small, senior core team and scale up through a trusted network for each project. We’re the operator behind some of Brisbane’s most-seen cultural work — and behind ventures of our own, like Brisbane Street Art Festival and the Superordinary venue. The artists take the poster. We take the credits block.
Public first
The work is free, in the open, and made for the people who live around it — not gated behind a ticket or a paywall.

Artists drive every project. We resource them, credit them first, and build the scaffolding so the work can be ambitious.

Vision is cheap. We’re judged on what actually gets built — on time, on budget, and still standing years later.

The care in the artwork runs all the way through the logistics, the permits, the safety plan and the acquittal.

Brisbane Street Art Festival launches
Vast Yonder founds BSAF — Brisbane’s first dedicated street art festival.
The QUBE Effect begins
A five-year artist-development program with Brisbane City Council (2017–2022).
Yonder Festival
A multi-arts camping festival launches in the Mary Valley (2019–2022).
Delivering through the pandemic
100+ public works delivered across Brisbane while live events paused.
Superordinary opens
A 1,700m² warehouse + 2,200m² riverside courtyard in Northshore Hamilton.
A decade on the walls
BSAF’s 10th edition, and Brisbane hosts the Australian edition of Meeting of Styles.
Distrosub launches
The artist-direct music platform opens to the public in September, three years after it was founded.
