Australia’s largest street art festival — a decade of free, large-scale public art across Greater Brisbane.

Founded by Vast Yonder in 2016 as Brisbane’s first dedicated street art festival, BSAF grew from a grassroots idea into Australia’s largest annual public art event. Over ten editions (2016–2025) it has commissioned 400+ works across Greater Brisbane — Fortitude Valley, West End, South Brisbane, New Farm, Woolloongabba and Northshore Hamilton — and it has always been free to the public. Each edition pairs a live mural program with exhibitions, workshops and major partnerships, from the BMW Art Cars to Visualising AI with the QLD AI Hub and the University of Queensland. Partners include Brisbane City Council, QUT, Brisbane Airport and Arts Queensland. The 2023 edition alone reached ~3.9M people and generated 80.6M media impressions, with 44 artists delivering 41 murals — a measurable earned-media channel at city scale, not just nice walls.
