Toombul Shopping Centre Public Art Program

The Toombul Shopping Centre, owned by Mirvac Retail, embraced street art during the Brisbane Street Art Festival as a key location in the festival program. In addition to showcasing a variety of large scale artworks, the event featured a series of exciting workshops, including Screen painting and Aerosol masterclass, providing participants with the opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of urban art.

The festival also played host to captivating performances, such as Scribble Slam and the immersive theatre performance by the Theatre of Thunder. The artworks were painted by a selection of talented artists, including John Kaye, Lino, Wasp Elder, Gus Eagleton, Kristopher Ho, Karri McPherson, Xandolino, Leans, and Sortwo. Their creations brought the space to life, transforming Toombul into a true open-air museum.

To conclude the festival in style, a closing party on the rooftop was held, providing participants with a memorable and celebratory experience.

This property was significantly affected by the 2022 Brisbane floods which has resulted in the entire property being demolished, the artworks along with it.
