Brisbane Street Art Festival
BSAF is an annual public art event that seeks to provide opportunities for creative practitioners and the wider community to develop positive partnerships through engagement and collaboration. As an avenue for artistic expression, BSAF endeavours to create a multi-disciplinary platform that encourages participation from any and all art forms. BSAF activates and revitalises public spaces – providing a framework for showcasing and engaging with public art across Brisbane.
Since inception in 2016 BSAF has grown rapidly in scale and has established itself as the largest street art festival in Australia. For its eighth year, the 2023 program engaged 44 visual artists to deliver 41 murals and mural projection in the greater Brisbane area alongside 3 major exhibitions and plethora of immersive and enriching events that featured live music, art, dance battles, performances and talks. With the lift of COVID-19 international travel restrictions, BSAF 2023 featured a wide variety of talented international, interstate and local artists that drew approximately 3,985,223 audience members to public mural viewings and collected over 80.6 million impressions across 919 media & social pieces.
