BMW ART CARS

The Brisbane Street Art Festival, in partnership with the renowned automotive manufacturer BMW, contributed to the world of urban art in 2020 and 2021 with an innovative initiative: transforming BMW’s cars into moving canvases for the festival.

By combining the elegance of BMW vehicles with the vibrant expression of street art, this collaboration created a unique experience that merged the automotive world with Brisbane’s artistic culture. As the city streets became the stage for talented artists, the BMW car served as moving canvases, taking art beyond the traditional walls of street festivals.

In its inaugural year in 2020, the festival collaborated with artist Spectator Jonze to bring the 2 Series to life, followed by the participation of artists Sofles with the M3 and Tori Jay with the M4 in the subsequent year.

What made this partnership so special was how it challenged established conventions, turning an everyday object into something extraordinary. Each vehicle became a mobile work of art, bringing the artists’ creativity to the hearts of the communities they passed through.

Furthermore, this collaboration highlighted the commitment of both BMW and the Brisbane Street Art Festival to innovation and creativity. By joining forces, they demonstrated how art and culture can merge with technology and design, creating truly memorable experiences for the public.
